PIM(Pre-Inspection Meeting)

The purpose of pre-inspection meeting is to discuss with Vendor’s representative the inspection topics such as range of inspection, communication channel, checking the Vendor’s quality system and other inspection related matter. In addition, at the time of Vendor’s shop visit it is confirmed that they fully understood and will comply with purchase order requirements. The Pre-inspection meeting will be normally held with the Vendor who are manufacturing major items or the Vendor who seems to be insufficient their quality activities. The meeting shall be arranged at the time of submission of GA drawings, WPS. Inspection & test plan, procedures and production schedule, etc. to be approved but not before the fabrication is started. The topics of pre-inspection meeting shall be included at least:

A. Vendor’s quality system
B. Status of documents in the Vendor Print Index
C. Applicable job specification, standards and acceptance criteria, etc.
D. Communication channel
E. Inspection application method
F. Range of inspection such as review, witness, hold point, etc.
G. Other inspection topics
